When has reason got the better of man. Where does this thought that reason means being reasonable and it can in some way govern human affairs for its own good arise from?
On the other hand, reason seems in its heart to be a contrapted excuse by a speaker who has his reason anchored to things he highly values and reason arises always and everywhere as his justification for being there, and so any reason that claims to be value neutral is a bunk.
Reason is not some sort of numerical calculation that is accessible to every being. 2+2=4 is valid and universal is true, but the universal man that speaks for all is a thick fog that seems to be choking the rationalist into believing that there is a universal reason from where he can judge others actions as valid or invalid.
The separation of reason from rhetorics is an illusion that seems to have become the single guiding light of modern day enlightenment.
Will human reason be different in a world that seems to be collapsing under its own solidly reasoned weight, a world that seems to be packing its bag, what reason can there be for it to be, for what it is, as it is.
The comic relief from the ways of the world is an intimidating idea.
